The GWPCWI strongly recommends puppy buyers screen the breeder and the pedigree from whom they are considering purchasing a puppy/dog. A good place to start your research is with the Orthopedic Foundations for Animals (OFA), this is public knowledge to whether or not breeders have their dog's hips examined, and the ratings they receive. Reputable and responsible breeders perform health screens such as hips, elbows, thyroid, eyes, and vWD (bleeding disorder). Do your research!!
